Community Agreements

Our goal at Culture of Color Collective is to create inclusive and accessible spaces rooted in joy, connection, and belonging. Our Community Agreements help us co-create that environment together. They are a simple guide for how we show up for ourselves and one another with care, respect, and intention. When you attend any of our events, we ask that you keep these agreements in mind, as we each play a role in making sure the space feels comfortable, respectful, and enjoyable for everyone.

Let joy lead.

Come ready to feel good, so dance, laugh, play, and be in community. Joy is a vital part of our gatherings, and we want you to experience it fully.

Come as you are.

Show up authentically and comfortably. This space is made for softness, joy, and connection.

Lead with care.

Be gentle with yourself and others. We center compassion, patience, and kindness in every interaction.

Respect people’s boundaries.

Honor personal space, pronouns, access needs, and comfort levels.

Protect the vibe.

This is a space for Black queer joy and connection. Let’s all do our part to help the space feel relaxed, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.

Celebrate differences.

We uplift diversity in gender, sexuality, expression, ability, and lived experience. Everyone deserves to feel seen and safe.

No hate, discrimination, or harmful language.

This is a zero-tolerance environment for racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, xenophobia, misogyny, or harassment of any kind.

No illegal activity.

For the safety and well-being of our community, engaging in illegal activities — including the use or distribution of illegal substances, possession of unauthorized weapons, or physical violence — is not permitted at any Culture of Color Collective event or space.

Keep it consensual.

Check in before starting a conversation, taking photos/videos, or joining someone’s space. A clear yes helps everyone feel more comfortable and respected.

Care for the space.

Take care of the venue and anything we’re using together. Be mindful of shared materials and leave things as you found them (or a little better).

If you are attending a CoCC nightlife event, please read our safety and security policy.
